Germ has updated the curriculum for Lampworking Bullshit! Germ will still be going over the same old bullshit, but this time it will be approached in a way we feel will allow our students to further identify their artistic voices and explore new ideas. We are excited for the change and looking forward to students pushing their boundaries and creating new works of glass art!

During the first half of the first day, the class will travel to Seattle Art Museum for an inspirational trip to get students thinking about experimenting with shapes and colors. Afterwards, students will spend the next two and a half days at The Boro School developing their observations into new works while covering these Advanced Basics:

Hollow shaping
Assembly
Rigs
Seals
Glass Theory: Knowing when and how to defy gravity
Identifying your artistic voice in glass
