I made this pendant with one eye closed the whole time. It was a little more difficult but not too bad. I can imagine that it would be pretty difficult to do something very big though. But it seems like it is one of those things that would just take a little practice.

This is kind of funny, but I often hear people say things like 'how I can get away with time, money, dress, and "rules" like I do', and then the other person always replies assuringly, "He's a glassblower!".

the reason I say I am a glass artist is because if I say "glassblower" , people think "hot shop", If I say "lampworking / flameworking" people have no idea what that is, for the most part. So when I say glass artist , to me it's just the art ( craft) of blowing glass, and everybody at shows seams to get it.

i tell people different shit all the time. it depends on whom it is and how stand "appear"
if i think i could possibly get paid i explain to them what it is i do.
if it is a hot female, i explain what i do( sometimes a lil exagerated) lol
if it is a typical youngin i have fun with it.
if they ask about chihluly i walk away with nothing else said.
if i say lampworker, and they ask me if i make lamps i tell them the truth. i made a pendant light once.
but alot of the time i tell them i am a pipe maker. i love the looks i get.

i have told alot of people i am a sperm donor to totally end the conversaion, but 1 in 10 want to know more lol.

I kinda don't like attention an anytime you meantion glasswhatever folks ask you all sorts of ?'s. I think it would help sometimes printing answers to save the breathe. I tell most folks who don't know me I own a small wholesale biz an don't like to talk biz out of work, most understand an we move on with the conversation.
I've gotta say the 'artist' title (to me) is sooo played out by so many folks.

i don't like the attention myself but, sense i started working with glass, it's like i've become somewhat of a celebrity...

it annoys me to no end when people wanna know *how you get the colour in the glass*
and then you tell them you do it with coloured glass, and they just dont get it...

most people are so simple minded that things like that don't make sense to them...

I hate it when people ask me what I do for a living. Does it make a difference? If asked I usually give a really nasty reply, like "I mop out the booths at the Porno Palace, the hours sucks, the pay sucks, but I get a discount on dvd's"

i just tell people that i'm a professional bum... this is a term that my dad always used when referring to me and what i do with my life... so, for me he coined the phrase that i still use and instead of magic marker and cardboard, i use silver and gold wire, hemp and glass...
