damn you i think mine is coming today too! it better or i gotta wait till next week. it better.
Ive been waitin so effin long for this day.
it actually arrived last week while i was in hawaii, but got to use it for the first time lastnight and love it.
I put it side by side to my gtt bobcat and laughed at how much bigger it is.
I got a good deal on the torch, which is brand new (i think 25 hours on it) and a griffin footpedal. $1350 for the two.
I know theres tons of threads out there on this subject but since i started a new thread anyways I might as well ask... what does eveyone like setting the PSI to?
I tried oxy-35 and pro-20. it hissed like a mofo and i couldnt get the lynx fire very wide, when i could get a decently wide flame with the bobcat...
maybe i just need to practise on it. but it looks like most people set propane to around 10psi.
ill post random pics later
and i will be on Stickam.com in about 10 mintues!

naw mine didnt come. oh well i was sad, but im gonna survive 3-4 more days on my lynx too![]()
I run 40-45 oxy and 7-10 propane . I have a mirage split with bobcat , can get any flame you want .
I run mine 15 psi oxy. and 3 prop. I can get a nice range of flames at this setting and it's not as touchy.
thanks for everyones input.
I was just told that you dont need to have the blue oxy knob open all the time.
I was told you need it open atleast a pinch all the time...
I got my phantom two days ago. Me lovey it.

I bow to the mighty phantom. Always wanted to work on one of those but dont have the money nor do i know anyone that has one. Congratulations im sure you will be busting out some great shit on that thing.
^fucking amazing torch.... got to play with CDot's very briefly and thoroughly enjoyed it.
don't remember his pressures....
yeah im lovin it so far. its taking me longer to do things on the lynx than it did with the bobcat, but that will change when i get the hang of it
Checking this thread to see if you posted any pix yet, Chris...of the Phantom, or of anything you've made with it so far...?![]()

x-tine (thats your porn star name) I will take some pics of stuff ive made ASAP and take pics of the torch and flame.
Also would like advice if im running the candles too small. ill take pics of what i usually run the torch at for different things (meltin in, stringers, etc)
ive been checking the barrel to see if its hot and its deffinetly not "grab-able".
I keep adding more oxy with green but it just hisses like a bitch
right on - can't wait to see what you do with it!
Finding the heat with the lynx is a learning curve. You had to get that bobcat raging to get a good hot flame, with the lynx, a slower flame by using the blue is twice as hot - little more narrow, but much hotter. I was told to run them at 50/4.5psi and that seems to give me quite a bit of range.
As for your candles, about 1/8" candle slow neutral flame is about the smallest I can go without seeing the center tube warm up. A tiny little blue flame (just blue and red valves) seems to be able to run for quite a while with no problems though. In other words - low and slow equals no go. he he...
