Time out
Just out of curiosity;
Why is there a time out?
It ain't where you're from, it's where you're at.
Really.

Re: Time out
i'm pretty sure it's for the people that can't handle "it" all of the time.

Re: Time out
:-)
After I log in, I click 'New posts'
then start from the oldest post by scrolling down the page then open page two, &c.
the I right click each newest message and 'open in new tab'.
until I get all the posts I want to read, then close each tab after reading it.
However, if I get a bunch of open tabs and post in a lot of them,
by the time I get back to the newest tab, I have to log in again to be able to post something.
So I log in again, write and post until I'm back to the last one.
then I click 'new posts' to see what's new since I last logged in, and start again.
So I guess the time-out is about ten minutes,
it's similar to if you log in to your bank account and your activity is timed
unless you set the time out to 'off', as someone might need to do if they have a disability.
No big thing really, I guess I'm just curious how other folks read the forum and deal with the time-out feature.
Okay so here's a good example;
I just clicked on 'post quick reply' and it said...
The following errors occurred when this message was submitted
1. Your session timed out while you were composing this post and you were logged out. You must log in again to continue.
So then I have to copy all that I've written, re-login, paste it into the text box, then 'reply to post' because 'post quick reply' doesn't work.
It just seems like a fuckabout, that's all.
Thanks in advance if you could explain it to me, I may have asked this question before.

Re: Time out
sometimes happens to me , I figured out if the you do not have permission pops up just click the go adv and it brings a log in page up and saves your message so you wont have to copy it anymore . Well thats how I get around it .
