Been melting whenever I get some spare time, apologies for not posting more often, but so much of what is being made right now is not good

Also been going through O2 like quick as hell, i generally only get to fire it up for a couple hours at a time, and it seems like i get about 5 days of 2-3 hours on the torch before i'm out. But I guess that is kinda normal from what i've read?

Anyways here are a few more pics, couple jars, and my first implosion that kinda worked, not as well as i had hoped, but progress from what i've done so far. Oh and i've been making these chunky spoons, here's one next to the other two that I posted before.

Ok, so i haven't posted in a while, but i've got a light tent coming in so i can get some better pics, glass is hard to photograph well... so i figured since i haven't updated yet, i'll wait a few more days.

And since this is not my day job progress is pretty slow, starting to get nicer shaped bowls, and still fighting to make a cool jar, i think i'm close, but still haven't quite gotten it. started playing a little more with colors, still mostly wasting that, but definately learning.

I really wanna get in the habit of taking pics on a weekly basis and updating this thread. It'll keep me honest if nothing else, and i definately appreciate those of you who have given encouragement and tips along the way. I could never have gotten to this point without this forum, you guys are great!

    peace out,
    D

Ok, i know, finally an update, got a lot of pics now... hope it's not to much... A lot of this stuff is earlier, some much earlier, you'll be able to tell, i'm sure ;-)

comments and criticism is welcome, i'll post another reply with a few newer things.

didn't melt this one in very well, this was a month or two ago

    First time messing with dichro

was going for a galaxy type look on this one

I gotta work on my joints, they get all goofy, either i smush it in to much, or i don't heat it up enough, so it's not always as smooth as i'd like it to be.

And here's the newest, still trouble with the joints, but i think it's still getting better... Found out some colors take more heat to get to the same viscosity as clear :-) bowls started folding in weird when all the glass didn't wanna move at the same time.

    my first set

make sure that you havnt already pressed the bowl when you attach it. just heat up both pieces enough to tack together then heat up the whole bowl and let the flame just bounce off the the connection.. once its condensed a little give it a puff and then pop and press the bowl. you prob dont ever have to hit the flame directly on the tubing,,
work, work, work, all day long. work, work, work, while i sing this song. gonna light my fire, gonna melt some glass. gonna make a bunch of pipes super fast.

Thanks for the tip CDot, i think i underestimate the heat that the splash of the flame puts off, i'll give that a try.

Ok, not gonna say i'm gonna take more pics, cause i'm pretty lazy when it comes to taking pics and posting, but I just picked up cosmo's book and this marble came out pretty sweet, for me, definately room for improvement, but so far, definately my best :-) And this bowl came out pretty sweet too, gotta work on not boiling all my colors, can't see it in the pic, but there are a couple spots that are a little scuzzy. So here it is:
