i think that was actually preemptive defensiveness before anyone could talk trash about the seals. or fishing for the "naa man those look fine" complement.

whats with the blob on top of the curve for anyways? i don't understand it

it was pure sarcasm, in that i think my seals are fine. i still havent had any come back as defective. i've put out many dozens at least. the odd curve breaks, but thats predictable. i'm working on making them less breakable. be nice to have them almost never break.

as for the blob, the curve will be completed by the addition of metal attachements to facilitate a hinge system used to attach a vapor creation system involving a titanium hotplate. the blob on top is the wrap attachement nub.

yea but what does heating ti up and inhaling the fumes do to you anyone know? and when heating it up arnt you just huffing in the offgas from torch or whatever your useing to heat the pad? oh and my only advice man is just push your envelope a little more and it will develop your work and style so much more. i know its easy to get into whats compfy and makes the cash but every once in a while push yourself and bust out somthing that really pushes your skills. without doing that your style will seem to lag and become a bit stagnent as i kinda see it. not hating just saying you can push yourself and build more skills that will help you in lots of ways when you go bak to making these little units. there i was polite and everything...lol oh and your seals look good to me you just wanna always make sure you have a nice even wall between pieces.

hey kut, how big are those things anyways?

Albino: ive thought about it alittle. the conclusion i came to is when your heating it with the torch both it and the torch are off-gassing into the room at large (not a big problem). once your drawing off the unit it should be pretty well under the temp at which is releases gas. so it should be fine.

Cool Kut. I didn't want to assume anything and thanks for not taking it the wrong way. I do like the work, but on the east side of the states, we have little use for these. Hard to find wax and oils.

gotta make yer own prolly, i never found any here either.

headi, its a full on english ivy unit, and its partially kiln struck, but mainly in the flame, especially for the attachements. fairly raunchy oxy flame all the time.

I can't take my eye off that steel wool unit. Perfect shape and size for sure. I really dig the ggirl style mouthpiece on these three.

That wasn't trash talk, it was constructive criticism. In other words, trying to be helpful. The seals aren't specifically bad, but on that clear piece in particular, I can see remnant of a seal. A good seal doesn't look like a seal at all. I like your work, I want to see it improve. I want to see all of our work improve, that's how the medium as a whole gets better.

ya, i'm welding a female in there recessed, and i'm definitely no expert, but practice makes it get better. none have broken so far, so i dont see why i should go back and learn the basics like you suggested before. i'm just gonna keep practicing recessing these. i am just getting to the point that i can do not bad seals on clear joins now. this afternoon i'm gonna try my first tenmm recess. sounds tuff.
