Re: HMK's mediocre glass thread
i like the color that is behind the retti on that one.
why are the units stems so short? wouldn't you want a fair amount of water? or is the water just a quick chill? why don't you just pulll down a 14mm male to get the thin diameter of the vacuum part, it might look a little cleaner

Re: HMK's mediocre glass thread
you dont need much water for vapor ya, just a touch takes massive amounts of harshness away. its not really for filtration like the usual use, mostly a touch of cooling and diffusion too prolly. i think the stems are short because it gives a good length to view the pad when using. i guess its also because its based on a small bubbler style my sister used to do that was really small and short, but its been kept short for the view for sure. too far way becomes akward.
i dont follow you on the pulling the 14mm male part down..? for what part of the unit, the curve?
you will shank me later

Re: HMK's mediocre glass thread
ok i think i got you. you mean you can see my mediocre join between the new 10mm tube i put on the male for the curve section. yeah, i think i may just get better at that join. the drip tip male joints come on super thin stock, and its too thin to use for anything really. i used a few, and realized they kinda suck. so thin, they dont bend nice, and then weak too, so i take it off and replace it. seems prudent.

Next time the torch is lit I imagine. LOL C'mon Kut change it up a bit, or you're gonna have to change your name to Factory Glass.
I dig your design on these pieces, and I know they're keepin ya busy, but I strongly encourage you to do a nice piece with a different shape for the sake of keeping your sanity alone. Im on the verge of liquidating my prodo line myself on account it's literally driving me insane and eating away at my soul. You got the name, now show em what you're really made of bro! Make all kinds of different crazy pieces to stick them curves in and they'll go nuts over the stuff, promise.

Amen Alien.
Getting back to the titanium topic, I've been doing some more reading over the past few days, and with the exception of that link I found, i have been unable to find anything more about health risks associated with titanium, so I'm going to have to concede to HMK on this one.
Also, your retti's are looking very nice.
The most helpful bit of advice I've ever received:

Re: HMK's mediocre glass thread
Yeah, Im down with the Ti if it isn't a daily thing, and yeah, nice progress on the retti's, took me forever of trying on my own and getting nowhere, then Lupe showed me a quick one ONCE and it was like "ok, I can do this now". Was going about it the hard way for so long and getting nowhere.

go crazy? not so soon as that i dont think. i worked at a cedar mill for over ten years, many years doing the same thing ten hours a day, so this glass thing is still very fresh. i am at a year and 3 months, and have only made the full units for about 8 or 9, and didnt make that many actually, as my real prodo is the curves. i must have made over a thousand of those, and somehow, i am still not bored of those. must have been the millions of board feet i handled, prepared me for a touch of monotony now and then. the way i keep it fresh, is i am always learning. even when i make the simplest thing, i always try to pay attention, learn and improve. i dont consider myself an expert at anything, even if i have practiced for years.
however i do have the urge to make a large crazy piece sometime. just need to get the idea, and it will happen. i make all the units fairly similar, because the size and shape are pretty ideal. i am all about function. its fun to jazz it up with the odd donut n stuff.

Re: HMK's mediocre glass thread
Alien, IMHO the original kut vape is THE CRAZY DESIGN and most others R simply trying to jump on the bandwagon w/ designs not well suited 2 the task at hand !!!
Of course they ALL LOOK similar ; THATS KINDA OF THE POINT
I also agree that throwing a kut curve on most ANYTHING would be a MAJOR increase in functionality but it's best to keep it OG Papa !!!
bless up,

#1 Im not trying to dis the OG Kut design, its great, just trying to encourage a guy thats growing his skills to push his boundaries and not let his work get stale.
#2 Who's jumping on the bandwagon with crappy work? If you tell me Jason Lee or Devol's curves are "not well suited".....LOL
#3 I threw a Kut Kurve on my GOG bubbler, the damn tobacco keeps falling out.
#4 I like Kut, he's a good shit, dude sent me a Ti plate w/wire wrap for nuthin, that's pretty classy in my book. Again, my posts were just encouragement with maybe a little friendly harassment. Kut's got some chops for being as new to this as he is, mad props to him.
Kut doesn't need fan clubbers coming on here blabbin, it's infantile. For the sake of his image, stay out of it, seems he's got enough haters.
Haters gonna hate, Kut's gonna Kurve, and the world keeps spinnin round and round.
Bottom line, what I really wanna say is, way to go man, you're progressing very well man!
