@Steven. Yes, it is sandblasted with a coat of luster.
@EFS. I am not sure yet, I will let you know.
@Glassmax. Turn up the oxygen and turn down the propane. You have to work it in a pretty oxidizing atmosphere to avoid reduction. This new stuff is a lot more resistant to that, but it can still happen.

Just melted my first tube of the new black. I love it. Worked very well for me but the tube I got was kinda thin was my only complaint.
