Can't start a new thread

I've been trying all afternoon to start a new thread in "Glass Discussion" and it won't post or even preview. Just started a new thread on the 17th in "Safety Break Room".

Posting this here for now or I will forget.

Just thought I would post it for the archives.

Test solution for borosilicate glass
Mix 59% carbon tetrachloride and 41%benzene
Mix well pour in a beaker. Place a clean piece of glass into the beaker. If the glass is visible or you can see an outline of the glass this will be a soft glass. If the glass is invisible this will be borosilicate.*

Thanks for letting me know you're continuing to have problems. I've looked into this previously, and am continuing to do so. Unfortunately it's a rather unusual error that isn't showing up in various logs, but I do know what you mean as I've experienced it myself a time or two in the past months.

To check, when you submit the thread, you get a blank white screen - is that right?

Yes you are correct preview and post just go to a blank white screen.

Yep, that's the same thing I get too. I've tried using Firefox and Chrome.

If not, can one of you try now and let me know how it goes? All my thread startings are working fine. I think the problem will resurface though, as it has been.

Anything unusual about these threads - do they contain images, text, a lot of links, only text, etc? Just so I know for testing purposes.

I've tried within the last hour and it still didn't work. Mine has photo links to my Smugmug account, but I thought that might be the problem and removed them... still didn't work.

The only problem with being a collector on an mainly artist's forum is that sometimes a feel a little outta place. I love checking out what everyone makes and I pick up some technical info on the making of glass art. But hard for me to start threads that I think many would find interesting.

So here's my best shot, showing what I do for a living. The company that I work for designs and builds commercial glass furnaces all around the world. We mainly make float glass furnaces that produce flat glass, the largest of which put out 1000 tons of glass a day.

Here's a general design 3D view.

This is what a furnace looks like in cross section as it's being built.

And here's my fav... a pic during operation with one side's burners firing. Those flames are close to 40 feet long... millions of BTUs!

Above is the thread I was trying to post, just as a response in this thread (obviously). I tried posting it as a new thread both here and in safety break room, with and without photos, and it didn't work.
