Man, I wish I could make it out there, sounds great!
Aloha!
I'm dropping in to let you all know about some amazing workshop opportunities through Glass stock. I have been part of this event for four years know and it gets more fun every year. However last year we saw dwindling attendance due to an economic lull and a lack of Knowledge that this event even exhists.
Check out this link for info on Glass Stock. This years featured instructor/demonstrator is John Kobuki!!! 1 class from him alone is worth the meager $550 entry fee. Not to mention classes with Bob Snodgrass and others of the like. But this event isn't just for boro, for an extra $50 you can get into the hotshop, or for no extra charge you can try your hand in one of the many soft glass torch classes or coldworking. There are also non-glass classes and demos such as PMC, electroforming, and wirewrapping.
If we get enough interest and attendance is good enough we may be able to have Bandhu Dunham again. This event is held at EGS so it actually benefits the school to have use there too! It is held the weekend before labor day so start planning now!
Here is a link to the info site.
