Re: Rollcall - introduce yourself!
Hi, My name is Gacannon, I am again new to glass. I have allot of hand-me-down equipment that I am retraining myself on. Nortel Minor, Chili-Pepper kiln. The kiln has no markings and I am assuming is at least 10 years old. It's been a daily fix another thing on the kiln project.. But, I'm addicted to glass so I'll be doing whatever it takes to Melt the Elements.

Re: Rollcall - introduce yourself!
I live near Olympia, Washington. I am part of a new glass studio opening up on Steamboat Island. My part in the new studio is glass cutting and blasting/etching. I have always loved glass as an art and a tool.....and anything from heady glass to scientific pieces.

Re: Rollcall - introduce yourself!
i do not know how to put up a flash picture, but i've been working glass for 17 years starting with an education from fred tschida and steve edwards at alfred university. i do torchwork currently but spent a few years in a wholesale neon shop, built my own and taught for a couple years, as well as being proficient and knowledgable in off-hand(soft) glass. my identity in inexplicably wrapped into my passion for glass working and am always open to answer any questions or work with anyone who knows what's up. i'll work on a flash picture...

Josh 26. I've been working glass on and off for 4 years. I live in the akron area of ohio. I currently have a national 8m but I'm ready to move up and thanks to the help of people on this site I've decided I'm going to get a gtt phantom as soon as I get my income tax return. I'm here to learn and hopefully meet some lampworkers in my area.

Re: Rollcall - introduce yourself!
Hey all! New to the sight and to blogging in general.. Please have patients with me. I've sat behind a torch for thirteen years. I've helped build a few studios in that time. High Country Glass in Bozeman, MT, Albuquerque Glass Alliance in NM, Spinning sand Creations in Bozeman, MT, and currently Burning Snow studios in Olympia, WA. I've attended a few Flame offs.. Lewis Wilsons Bead off in Albuquerque, And the 1st Northwest Flame off in Olympia this last month. I have also had the amazing opportunity to attend 2001 GAS conference in Corning, New York. I love this industry and am excited to see the future and innovation that makes Glass working so dynamic!

Re: Rollcall - introduce yourself!
G'day everyone,
I'm Nat, and generally only known as Natalie when I am in trouble! I have worked at the flame since 2007 and whilst not a newbie anymore, still have so much to learn feel a bit "begginerish" if you get my drift.
I started by making beads on a minor and have somewhat graduated to boro on my phantom. I am really into murrini (complex ones) and tend to stick to the soft glass for that endeavour and also make a few soft glass vaccum encased paperweights - unfortunately still pretty bad ones for now!
I am keen to contribute what I can and learn from everyone else of course :-)
Nat

Re: Rollcall - introduce yourself!
Hi, I'm Sheila from Woonsocket, RI. I'm an absolute newbie - waiting for my beginner's kit to arrive by UPS. Can't wait to get started, but I know I've got scads to learn - a little intimidating, but I'm looking forward to the process. I'm going to start out with beadmaking on a hot head torch with COE104 glass. Just hoping I can make some beautiful beads without setting myself (or anything else!) on fire.

Re: Rollcall - introduce yourself!
^^ Welcome and enjoy the glass. If you are going to start with a hothead and 104, this is also a good site to look to for help.
