Stable Stable's progressing day by day...
About a year ago I found a new house I would be moving in to, and it was blessed with a massive detached garage that was previously used for a racecar building shop and had a huge welding table. Knowing that I would finally have the space to set up a glass studio, I enrolled in a soft-glass beads course at a local arts centre. It was 10 classes long. I made a bunch of beads, and softglass sure is a wild ride, you really gotta baby that stuff. I think that it helped me understand how molten glass works in the grand scheme of things.
Anyway, a few days over a month ago I got my studio up and running in said garage, and I have just been stuck on it.
Enough talk, here are some pics (I will try to keep them in a time line fashion from earliest to latest
)
Here is my work area (my oxy /propane is acctually in the back room, the build is pretty janky, i have no building experience and I did it for the most part on my own. There is a fan in the window, I could really use some advice about the whole intake / outake / not inahling fumes thing, im still scared to pieces of fuming.......) :

color organized (Got a really good deal on some odds / seconds so i'm quite stacked for a bit
) :
Here are my original glass beads:

The first thing I made on my torch (I didn't have a kiln so I made a non functional pipe as a joke, its a pendant too ) :
I made a little mushroom marble, i like these i want to make more:
My first honeycomb dish :

Honeycomb dish I made (its a small one) :
I've been doing lots of implosions, trying to sell some jewlery to start off (it's a good time of year too!
) :

Honeycomb/ wrap/rake/(myhand-sizzle) pipe -

All the pipes i've made to date:
Dense honey comb:
Sweet ass pipe that I made colour tubing for:
So that's where I'm at right now. Feel welcome to go through my photobucket to see more of my stuff, More to come!!
Thanks so much for scrolling through my thread, hope to hear from all of you.
all the best,
chris

Looks like ur off to a good start keep it coming and work hard bro. I would say though condense the color on your hand pipes a bit more the w&r is not melted in enough. Smooth serface is what u want. The more time you spend melting the.more you get the hang of it. Peace
Aaron.

You have ventilation right man if not stop working till you get something good to vent your whole room at your work space. Vent is the most important thing. I worked for years w/o proper vent and I'm lucky I'm alive. Many lampers aren't .

It doesn't look lkie your intake for makeup air (that open door) is far enough from your exhaust. It's real possible you're pulling those exhausted fumes right back in. I think rule of thumb is 10ft. And how powerful is the fan in that window? I'd recommend at least 1200cfm
