I see your beefy heart, and raise you one cholesterol pyramid. Try and dig your way out of this artery clogging edifice.

I have an Nortel with the redmax upgrade, I've been on it for about 7 years now, and I'm able to work 50mm tubing on it. Hell, I made a slightly wonky 2" marble on the thing.

Don't blame the tool, blame the tool using it. Be patient, and learn to use your torch. Oh, and get the upgrade, it does help a bit.

Okay, I've been called out to post again, so I can't let an eager public stand waiting. Too bad the thread sort of ran away sammiching, there's a lot of action goin on here. Okay, to Mer: maybe I did overreact a little. The shot you posted reminded me of all the signs I see women holding on the Slutwalk things. You know, the direct messages to the rapists who ruined their lives, lots of bravery involved, that sort of thing. I checked out the facebook link you threw up... And yeah, emo bitch gets cheated on, I can't care about that. She had some tig ol' bitties, for sure, but... nope, can't bring myself to give a fuck about that one anymore. So I misconstrued a photo. I still stand by my statements, even if they don't relate to anyone on this forum.

So what's up with the OP? Did they ever get a new torch? Did they decide they were happy and ill-informed about their current torch? Is Pete going to ask Winnie out to the dance? Find out all this and more next time on Pete & Pete...

    Oh, and one more thing.

Crap, that was sort of an unintentional sammiching. I was just thinking of things that stopped hearts, and katana wielding ninjas seemed too obvious.

Nah, I kinda sammiched myself there. I overreacted to what I saw and I made incorrect assumptions as to the nature of a jab, so I'm not too proud to call myself out on that. I'm pretty touchy about certain specific subjects, but this thread isn't the proper place to make a moral stance. And upon review, actually being aware of what I was looking at, Mer was totally on point and hilarious about it, so... I goofed, it happens. Sorry, guys, not trying to sling mud anywhere, Mer wasn't making any rape jokes, I misunderstood.

    And I do love sammiches.

But really, what's up with the OP? Did we scare her off? Maybe she can feed her daughter with all these sammiches flying around if that midrange can't step it up for her and I don't eat them all first...

Wait, throw on the brakes here. You can get a scholarship to AGI? I thought it was a specific event, rather than a school. Being the Art Glass Invitational, I assumed that it was a several days event to which you needed an invitation. Scholarship? I am confuzzled...

Okay, thank you for clarifying that, I was worried I may have been missing out on some awesome opportunities for which I would not have the time.

I guess I'll just keep melting and being the best blower I can be and hope for the best when it comes to AGI. And, while we're on the topic, how does the invitational work? Do you have to request an invitation, or is there some kind of panel that tracks down the right people and sends out invites individually? Not that I'm good enough to be a part of it or anything, I'm just wondering as to the nature of the event if anyone knows.

jestr agi is for sure not an invite only to the elite artist. although there are a whole shitload that are there every year.
it can be attended by anyone that purchases a ticket. tom and elaine are two of the greatest people in the glass community but they are not rich so this event cost a few bucks and i mean that literally for what you get out of it.

i dont think they are sold out yet and i can assure you it is an opportunity of a lifetime that you will seek year after year.

Thank you, Stroker, I appreciate the info. I'll have to make myself a little lump of cash for a ticket, then; I'd be happy as a clam for an opportunity to rub elbows with the best in the biz. I've been to one trade show and I learned volumes just from being there and seeing what exists, what people are making, and some of the mind-boggling ways that blowers are pushing the envelope. Learning by osmosis is fun and all, but AGI sounds just like the opportunity of a lifetime that everyone makes it out to be. One more thing for me to do before I consider myself a professional, I guess. May I be lucky enough to attend sometime soon!

And thanks again for the quick response, too. I've been wondering about that for a while.
