Levi, what is the green on that green and clear spoon. Also I've been wondering about not only your dabbers but others that do it the same way. Why do you curve the end?

Here ya go rouge I didn't feel like typing the whole thing over again so here a quote from the rookie when I asked him. I like this green a lot it works well with everything that I have used it on and for the price that makes it a win win.

As opposed to lots of them. Its also very reasonably priced. I have quite a few shorts of NS forest green, but have been using the amitronics for most of my green. ABR sells it with the borosticks for some reason, not really sure why. It comes in 8" lengths and is somewhat octagonal in cross section. They are kinda weird in the factory finished rod, but like I said, I really like this green, works like butter Thanks to Mecha for turning me onto it! The first link is ABR's, they have a good price on it. Like I said, don't be confused, the "green bars" listed with borostix are most certainly not borostix. The second link it to glasscraft's website, they have a bit of a description, and other colors, but its priced a bit higher.

There are some threads floating around the forum about this green as well. Its been called quite a few things, so like I said before, info can be a bit vague. But for $10 a quarter pound from ABR, I'd certainly recommend at least trying that much.
So on the dabber's I curve them because it seems to make them more functional. When they are straight to me it's uncomfortable and don't feel natural, but when you curve them it is more ergonomic and feels natural. That's why I curve them not sure if other people do it for the same reason's. I'm sure it is better for using on vapor curves also since you would be using it from the side.

Thanks for the info man. I actually saw the thread talking about that green after I asked you. I am definately picking some up. I'm gonna try some of those curved dabbers and see how they sell, and also make one for me to try.

So I've been like a machine all this week getting ready for my first time selling to a shop. I had a couple of ah ha moments last night and I have learned that I love the color exotic green on W/R's. So I'm not showing off my pile of spoons till tomorrow but I do want to share some of the highlight's from last night.

Then at the end of the night I was doing these deep frit implosions on rod. I finally figured out how to get them deep on rod (Damn that didn't come out right) they were my best frit implosions yet and then they both cracked in half when I was removing the punty from not keeping the heat up on it. You think I would have learned from the first one.

    Oh well here's the pic's

Hey man, as for the cracking issue. I'm sure you already know, but man I have got used to working a section and throwing it in the kiln and pulling something else out of the kiln and working a section on that and then throw that back in the kiln and then pull out another piece. If you keep doing that you will have a lot less cracking issues, especially on tubing.

The color and design in that pendent is awesome and the shaping on the first and last spoon was great.

Thanks bro but the cracking was totally my own fault, I put the pendant right in the brute of the flame before warming it up in the back of the flame first I know better.

Here's my pile of glass I'll be off to sell them here in a couple of hours. This is from the past 4 day's of working my ass off. I don't even know what to ask for these things most of them are really thick.

And a flower pendant I did last night. I will also have my pendants in a art gallery tonight for the first friday art walk we have downtown I'm a little nervous.

Well it was a total success!!!!! I sold every piece to the shop and got what I was asking for them I couldn't be happier with the whole experience dude said he'll take everything I got once a month as long as I don't sell to the other shops in town. The art show was pretty dead there was bad thunderstorm kicking so there wasn't many people out but I still sold two pendants and a marble. It's going to be a long weekend I'm out of oxy and airgas is closed on the weekends makes me wish I had homefill. I'm already wanting to get back out in the studio and I got the rest of the weekend to go. I won't know what to do with myself I'm totally addicted and need my fix. Hopefully now I'll be able to support my glass habit with my glass habit and that is a good feeling.

Hey man, PM about prices. I want to make sure you're getting the right price considering you are right next door. I can hook you up with some shops around here too

I sent you a PM kineglass

So I'm out of 25 x 4 tubing so I decided to try out some of the 32 x 4 that I've been saving for when I could use it better and man this stuff was whooping me the couple W/R's I did came out ok. I just was having a hard time with them then I was trying some large aurora frit on the inside I guess I wasn't melting in enough because I shattered like 3-4 pipes in a row. Man they were looking really sweet too I'll try it again on some 25 x 4 when my order comes in.

Here's a couple from last night though.

I got a little out of my comfort zone on this one and put a honeycomb on the front of a wrap and rake.

I'm really digging this green exotic you can get some really cool colors out of it.

    Thanks for looking
