Re: L3V3R2ooo's Progression Thread
nice progress.
one thing that was taught to me when i started doing hammer bubs was to keep the angle between the mouth piece and can 90 degrees or more. i normally do mine just a little more then 90, so your looking into the bowl a bit as its at your mouth,
Ian Rasor used to say to me, quit makin limp dick bubblers bro!
keep on it!

All that solid work is looking tight. Really liking the colors and the combos of the marble and frit spoons. I have not been around on the forum much lately so its nice to see your progress after a break.

Re: L3V3R2ooo's Progression Thread
What's up melting pot I don't have much time post much stuff lately so here's some new stuff. I've been on a huge tube implosion kick now that I figured them out I can't stop doing them. I know at one time in a past post I said I loved mystery adventurine frit on the inside well let me retract that statement I've had so many spoons check on me with that stuff, I had a couple that sat in my case and after 2 week they checked Grrrrrrrr so as of now I hate mystery adventurine frit on the inside. I've tried different annealing cycles I've tried not striking it I've tried flame annealing before sticking in the kiln which I usually do anyways. It's totally got me frustrated if anyone has got any tip's that would be great.
This is the last mystery adventurine spoon that checked on my I'm done with it for now.

Some new pendants the little ones are tiny they are smaller than a penny.

My first time making a gong slide.

And a new bubbler

Re: L3V3R2ooo's Progression Thread
nice looking work. sounds like the frit problem could be from not melting it in enough, or possibly to thick. try melting the frit in extremely well, getting super hot puff into it and then condense until its all melted in then pull to around 19 to 25 mm diameter, with the wall thickness of 2-4 mm, bench cool around 4 inch sections of that, if it cracks then your probably doing something wrong. Lots of people look at me like i'm crazy for bench cooling things, but let me assure you my success rate is over 95% thanks to my teacher, and some hard work

Re: L3V3R2ooo's Progression Thread
It's only the mystery adventurine that checks, All the other frit spoons I make are just fine but the MA checks on me it's deff melted in all the way. I'm working on a lynx so I can only pull one pipe at a time pulling tubing is just to much for the little guy.

Re: L3V3R2ooo's Progression Thread
hmm.. honestly havent used that frit. do you make prep balls? I was basically taught to stack balls to build, i would try pulling off a single prep ball and see if that cracks. the balls are more stable. can't even tell you how many times i dropped my balls on the concrete shop floor only to watch them bounce like a ball. good luck your work is nice
huh huh i said balls

I just started getting into them, they give some wild effects compared to rod. The possibilities become endless.
When you're doing those, are you pressing every once in awhile as well or are you just reducing the tube back on itself? I feel like when I press I'm distorting the image too much. Yet I can't seem to get the deep imploded look without doing it.

Re: L3V3R2ooo's Progression Thread
I never press with tube I let gravity do all the work for me. I blow out a thin bubble draw my design on the bubble then start at the tip of the bubble and start melting the color in keeping it even when it's all melted in, I condense it down tear it off the tube then prep it for what I want to do with it.

Ah, maybe I'm not blowing it out enough and that's my problem. A lot of the video's I've seen seen like the Bashi Ale ones, they just seemed to work off the tube without blowing it out at all, but that makes so much more sense. I'll give it a try today. Thanks man.

Sweet, I haven't worked the slime personally but I watched some other cats mess with it and it seemed kinda tricky. Yours looks nice and smooth though.
