"Destruction leads to a very rough road, but it also breeds creation."
Just pulled my first boro cane on my National. Not so fun. Torch wasn't hot enough. It took a whole hour to heat the Gather. Lots of bubbles. Still learned allot about boro. lots of bubbles and devitrifacation on orange crayon on the outside of the gather. Is it from to much oxy or not enough. The white glass seemed to bubble and devit. Looks like I have a learning curve to explore. O well burn baby burn.

I like glass alchemy sno white it doesn't boil as easy as any of the other whites. NS whites you need to work them in the back of the flame until they are glowing red. Orange is another one of those easy boilers its good to encase cadmium colors in clear or work it slowly in the back of the flame.
Is it Beer :30 yet?
Even though you said you had trouble with the boro, I still see your style shine through on that pull. Keep it up, definitely gonna want some more firepower tho.

I really like the last pull. It's like the boro took your style and Dr Seussed it up. I also really enjoy some of the faces you make.

How'd you go from this.
To this? Bending?

The murrini is not set in the band in the first picture I only was checking size. The bezel cups are placed upside down on the brick. then the ring shank is attached is soldered on. then polish the ring and set the panda.
hope that answers your question.
steve
That's not boro is it ?
nope soft glass
There will be boro soon. New torch arriving shortly![]()
Cool either way I dig the pandas.
Making a kestrel murrini in boro. I need a good opaque tan in boro. I have mixed Brown crayon sienna and white together but my hands are sore from mixing. any suggestions?
Also anyone have an opinion an the indian or aisian whites at ABR?
Thanks
What about butterscotch or NS carmel. They are a light tan.
Is it Beer :30 yet?
I like butterscotch quite a bit. It gives a bit of an amber purple hue if oxidized but if kept nutral/reduced you can keep it nice and tan.
