Don't let the Bead Annealers title fool you. We have special door setups for all styles of work. The mandrel gaps can disappear at no cost, setting you up with a sealed chamber unless your punti door is in use.
240v and 110v options are available as well. Go with 240v and take half the profit from your electrical company and spend it on color.
Sorry, no sale on customs at this time. We'll be putting something together for those in the near future.

Does a punty door count as custom? Eyeing up a regular guy with no gap and a punty door, dont care whether it's the left or right door. Also 240v will cut your amperage draw in half, but electricity is billed in KwH, so the bill would stay the same. Someone feel free to correct me if I'm wrong, but this is how I always understood it.

The punti door is not considered a custom. It is an available option on the kiln and does not extend the build time to the custom level, they do cost $60. The full length doors are a free option we offer the sculptors and pipe makers. It just makes sense for their working style.
That is a very good question. I will dig deeper into the electrical calculations. You are correct in the basic calculation but I wonder about the duty cycle. Most calculations assume a constant element on situation. That would not take into account shorter heat times for more element being in the chamber. The wear on the element is definitely less improving life expectancy greatly. The element length is longer on a 240v, which does improve the heating of the chamber with less time spent with elements on.
