Default Torch for blowing glass pipes?

I have absolutely no experience with glass blowing. You probably don't want me in your forums, but I cracked my head open last week and got a major concussion and all that good stuff, and now I can't surf or skate or do anything fun for 6 weeks. So, I've decided ill learn to make glass pipes. I don't have the money for a kiln or anything, and I realize that with the type of cheap torch ill be forced to get, the pipes may not turn out so well, but I'm fine with that.
My questions are, a)what kind of torch should I get for blowing glass pipes? Recommender temperature, type of gas, etc? B) what other tools will I need (i.e. tongs, shaping tools and what not). C) what kind of glass tubes should I get for the pipes, and what kind of glass should I get for coloring/designing them?
Any advice will be appreciated. Thanks, Cruz

Do you really expect to get all the equipment and learn to make pipes in 6 weeks? It is possible but not probable. Good luck though it is a great calling, hope things work out for you. Stick with it it's worth it!!!!

Go out and buy a nortel minor burner. Cheapest and most reliable oxy/pro torch that will allow you to make pipes.
Next, go out and get an oxygen/propane tank with respective regulators.
After that go get twin lines for your new gasses and hook em up to your torch. PRESTO!!! Youve got flame.
Then, go order some 25x4 mm tubing from any fine glass retailer and stick that in your flame.
The only tools you'll really need to make pipes are a bowl push, a marver, and perhaps hot claws.

Loved the minor cheap unbreakable torch! Min tools id get would be hot claws, tungsten poke, bowl punch and a reamer to pretty stuff up.
