TMP has lots of great info and people!!Happy birthday TMP!
I love the melting pot because it is the single largest treasure trove of lampworking and pipe making knowledge, and the people are just as good as the glass!
This site removed the glass-curtin 13 years ago. Now everyone helps each other, rather than keeping secrets.
If you can imagine something, it exists. Just think of what you can't imagine, because all that exists too.

I love the melting pot because not only does it teach you more than you could ever hope for, but it also entertains me through out the day since I keep it as a constant running app on my phone. And on top of that it can get you in touch with people that you can make a long lasting friendship with, I know it has happened for me a couple times and I'm sure I'm not the only one. I also feel like the moderators genuinely care about the forum and its members which is not always the case on online forums.
So thank you for providing a great spot for like minded people to discuss what we all ultimately love - THE GLASS !
There is an ecstasy that marks the summit of life, and beyond which life cannot rise. And such is the paradox of living, this ecstasy comes when one is most alive, and it comes as a complete forgetfulness that one is alive. This ecstasy, this forgetfulness of living, comes to the artist, caught up and out of himself in a sheet of flame ; it comes to the soldier, war mad on a stricken battlefield and refusing quarter. ~ Jack London

I haven't posted in a long time, but I come back here and just read and look around fairly often. Not only is there a ton of info, but its inspirational, and pumps me up for wanting to work with glass again. As much as I love it, I still need a kick in the ass to go turn everything on. After I look at some of the pix here, I want to go melt some glass!
I love the melting pot because it sucks in all the good info, without sucking in the process!
Lampworking the road that never ends, Until your out of gas!
Over the last 3-4 years this has been where I have learned 90% of what I know now. Since this is a hobby for me, I usually get around 10 hours a week into it, if that, but reading about new techniques while at my day job really inspires me for the couple hours I get to stand before the bench at night or on the weekends. So I gotta say it's the inspiration that I love the most, the new ideas, and people pushing the envelope and sharing their ideas. Oh and reading some of the funniest threads I've ever seen comes in a close second. While I know none of you and I am a bit of a lurker most of the time, I do feel like I know a lot of you from reading so many of your posts.
Thanks!

TLDR: This place inspires me!

I love the trolls and goblins.
But seriously it's a wealth of knowledge and resources. Anytime I have a question or need something for the studio it can be answered or found here. Thx tmp

For me it has to be the progression threads. Seeing where people started out and where they are now gives me all sorts of optimism and excitement to keep going and trying new things. And to learn those new things TMP gives me tutorials and a large community of people eager to help. This type support is priceless and irreplaceable. I may be new to flameworking, but I can see TMP being an important resource for the long run.
I LOVE NOMAD
