Hey folks

I want to invite you all to check out this class I'll be teaching at the newly renovated Urban Glass in Brooklyn, NY. The class begins in mid January and runs for 6 weeks, on Tuesday nights.

Urban Glass reopened about three months ago after their 2 year renovation, and did a beautiful job building this new shop. The flameworking studio is gorgeous and enormous. Urban will supply Carlisle CC torches for all students, but you're welcome to bring your own for use in class. The studio is also providing jacks and diamond shears for you to use if you don't have your own, as we'll be using these tools for all of our work.

As an added treat, Urban has a great policy for enrolled students. Anyone enrolled in a flameworking class gets FREE STUDIO TIME IN THE FLAME SHOP AND COLD SHOP outside of class time!!!

This class should be a lot of fun. The two main things we'll be focussing on are refining our mechanics (how we do what we do with our hands and why) and bumping up the scale of our work. Whether that means moving from little ornaments to goblets or from goblets to great big vessels (or from great big vessels to great BIGGER vessels), we'll explore how to sidestep those limitations that can prevent us from making our most refined work.

Anybody looking to refine their process or their work will gain a lot from this class. It's a mixed class for intermediate and advanced flameworkers, the only requirement is that folks should have at least one years experience working with hollow forms at the torch.

Feel free to contact me or the studio with any questions, I hope to see you there!
