You asked about exp green a few posts back over white. I have had good success, at least in inside out work. Getting the lighter greens and blues to come out by striking the color in the flame a few times after your done working. This usually happens by reshaping a section, ie for the bowl or carb, or by adding decorations. I have also been able to strike them by getting a good heat base down to the color, where it glows orange again, then letting it cool back to a normal non-glowing color, repeat if necessary.

    Your flowers are killing it!!
Thanks! The exp green turned out to be an unlabeled rod of green exotic, hence why I wasn't getting the desired effects. Still looking for some exp green. Tag and north star both make this color yes?

ok fine i will be very clear for you with extra info even: the northstar stuff is the bomb, and they have odds for sale at mountain glass. i recommend getting odds. In batches of exp green #5 from northstar, there are two types of rods. the good stuff is a med dark opaque green at a thin end shard, and not see through. the so-so stuff is a dark see through blue. its a lot less saturated.

    Look at my student go!!

Cracked on the hoop because she wanted to take it home... She will learn. Total natural and booked for two weeks from today. She learned to flame cut and weld back together. Dropped from 4" to make sure the weld holds and rolled to make sure it's straight.

Next we coated a slyme gather in onyx and pulled to stronger. Imploded a flower frog air trap and shepherds loop.

God I wish I could have had a teacher. She's 3 months ahead of me starting out and she's never held a rod in her life.

I am in such a great mood. Took tomorrow off to burn. Let's keep it going.

Aymie, your pendant is happening tomorrow.

    Aww just got a text:

Thank you! I had so much fun and you are a really good teacher
Looking forward to my next lesson!

God it's so hot. Don't even need to turn on the kiln I just hold the piece in my black Honda Civic trough a crack in the window and colors usually strike at around 25 minutes. For silver I'll give it a couple cycles

No before pics didn't think about it til after. Ring had a chip/ section missing

And this is BARELY on there like it was the way it broke before. I suggested a bail but this is what they asked for. I don't think they understand why it broke in the first place... Just not the sturdiest type of hoop.

Punty scar provided by the original artist I left it in order to preserve the signature.

All in all she was happy to get her pieces back and that makes me happy I iust hope the loop holds.

This is my first attempt at a Sherlock. Went for the one piece and I think it was a great first try. I'm so grateful to have someone close who can teach me things. Thanks Aymie.

This came out great. That white spot is glare from the sun but I did a good job of keeping it right and consistent for the first time ever.

Hey alright! My first attempt at a reversal! Got it turned into a pendy that's going in the 2015 pendant exchange feel like I leveled up tonight. I imagined it, I planned for which parts I thought I'd trip on and I executed accordingly.

Any tips appreciated especially on term points. Gonna try one more before bed. Wish I had more time to burn these days. Stupid back problems man.
