Fresh out of the kiln

I love the kiln controller. It is a very good investment. Probably the best investment I have made.
It works in ferenhight and is a 20 amp model. He built it custom for me.
It is pretty easy to hook up also. I was confused at first but when I figured it out I was amazed at how simple it is to connect.
I had a bunch of glass not come out right out of the annealer when I first bought the kiln. I hooked up the digital controller and it maintains a steady temp. I have not make any rejects since I hooked it up. The analog does not maintain a steady temp and you have to turn it up and down all the time. When I am working that was impossible to do. So I ended up making a bunch of unanealed glass.

I know it is off topic a little. But I have to figure out how to hussel $40 K in glass. I really want to buy this house and convert it into a studio and home for myself. It is kind of in the ghetto but I think it is a nice area. There are some houses boarded up and condemed on the street but there are others that were well maintained and some renovated.
I get no respect working out of a shed here. Too bad my credit is fucked or I would get a loan. Rent is really high so I can't just rent anymore either. Not to mention it is hard to find a place that is appropriate to blow glass.

taxes are really too high. The house is like $100-$200 month and the taxes are like $530/month.
If I had some money I would buy it. It probably needs work that I don't know of. Plus natural gas heat is expensive.

now THIS is sig worthy. dude...it doesn't matter whether you work out of a shed, basement, garage, or fully outfitting flameworking shop.

not to sound dickish...but there may be other reasons you don't get much respect. i'm going to leave it at that before i get an infraction.

I was talking about from my friends and family who now all make over $100 K a year except my brother. They are into expensive things and buy homes and shit like that.
It is hard to get respect for earning a living from a doctor who earns like as much in a hour as I make in a day.
But that was the other day. I had a wicked hang-over. I have stopped drinking after thanksgiving actually.
Today is my birthday!

a little off topic but FYI- Someone offered to buy my bike to make it into a sculpture. He said it reminds him of good time back in the good old days. I turned the offer down it was not high enough. BUt I thought it was funny.

I mean my nurse I see charges $120 for 20 minutes.
It is hard to get respect that you earn a living from these people.
But I was allways told to just build a shed and have your lampworking studio in it from the begining. That is what got me into working for myself. The low overhead. Building a furnace and a huge hot shop was not realistic to me.

I mean my brother in law just won an Emmy for social media. He wrote the show @Midnight on comedy central and is now the head executive writer on Workaholics.
They love my art but it is out of my league.

i still say you should try to broaden your product line to include something besides w&r......perhaps you'd get more respect as an artist that way?

I got in the mood to pull some vac stacks. So far every stack has had illuminati stringers in it. Inside and out. This isn't all of it. A lot of it is in the kiln and being used. But here is a sample of the colorpatterns I've been doing.

I leave them fat and pull them down. I've been doing 50x5 1/2 stick stacks. I should have some 75 soon.

The one in front of the cut knuckle weighs 1.6lbs. Just to give ya an idea

Well I was vacstacking my way through Tuesday too.
The big ones are 10 inch rods in 75mm.
The other is my normal 1/3 rod length or 6.5 inch.
The big illuminati section looks like a bottle after I melted it in and made a pull off it.
