Helping Flint, MI get clean water

My shopmates and I have teamed up with other artists to help Flint residents get clean water. We are making art to auction off and are donating the proceeds to bringing clean water to flint.

I'm not asking anyone on this site to donate, but if you guys could copy and share the GoFundMe page it would help us get the ball rolling. We have already been volunteering and helping pass water out, but people are being missed that can't leave and we want to branch off and help the elderly that can't leave their houses. Or the families that can't get enough water because they can't drive or haul gallons down the road. You wouldn't believe all the people I've given rides to that I see walking with kids pulling wagons of water down dort highway in 30° weather.
We are also picking up any empty water bottles and recycling them so we don't end up with tons of water bottles in our landfill. Something nobody else is doing. We are building an art piece from the empty water bottles that will be huge and on display in downtown flint.

I'll post links to the auctions when they pop up. Everyone in my shop is making some flint water related items to auction. Plus I have a few other artists contributing as well.

Don't get me wrong, anything people want to do to help is great.

That said, it's important to realize that it's too late for these kids. What I mean by that is that the lead they have already consumed is going to result in permanent brain damage, there is no fix. These kids can look forward to diminished IQ, impulse control problems, and increased aggression, these are issues severe enough to impact not just those directly affected, but the communities they live in for the rest of their lives.

And all of this was done to save money, knowing the expected effects. Fund raisers are great, these people will need all help they can get from here on out, but there needs to be serious actions taken against those responsible, and that's an even bigger problem.

We can't change the past and It's never too late to stop drinking lead filled water. My shop is smack in the middle of flint and we decided to help however we could.

No I havnt. Thanks! We appreciate all the help we can get. So far we have been running off of local sales of the glass we have made and a few small local donations.
