    Default Glasscraft Webinars?

Hey all, curious if anyone here has watched one of the recorded "webinars" that GlassCraft is selling on their site?

If so, what was the experience like?

    Thanks

Yeah, I had a bunch of trouble one time with video jogging & load delay. Video would play up to a certain point then would restart and would not play any farther than where it restarted. There is two different links to view the video page, the 2nd link work best for me. When I called they were more than helpful with fixing the problem promptly. Also they up my number of views to make sure I was able to at least watch the whole webinar more than once.

Anybody use their ps3 browser to watch the videos? Was curious if I bought the webinar and the ps3 didn't work it would use up my one time viewing.

I used Chrome and never had a problem with lag or anything. I'd recommend having a few browsers on your computer ready to go just incase something comes up. I plug my computer directly into my TV so I'm able to watch it on a bigger screen. I've never used a PS3 to watch.

For the money, they are worth it imo. They have interaction with whoever put on the webinar which is a huge plus. The only frustrating thing for me are the irrelevant/obvious questions that are asked. Many questions have already been answered but are asked again. Can't fault a guy for wanting to learn, it just sucked when he already went over a topic and it gets brought up again.

I just watched the one with Milon and it was fine, had to use IE though as Chrome didn't have the adobe connect that was required.

Is it possible to download the videos? Has anyone used a video capture program to do this? I would purchase all the videos if this is possible.

Last I checked there was no download option. Pretty sure using third party video/screen capture software would be illegal, so can't really help you with that here...but in general yes, you could probably find software to capture the video feed.

yeah the don't let you download for a reason. 50 bucks for the info you get is awesome, just get a notebook and pause and write stuff down. i rematch them before they end a few times to take it all in

I will still purchase the webinars its just that I would like to work along with the video in my shop and also to be able to order any materials for that lesson as well as refering back to the video from time to time long after the viewing period.

this is very easy to do with multitude of products. Depends if the content is Flash or MP4 what you use to capture it. Very easy.

Video capture (especially in the way you're intending to use it) might be a better discussion for a PM or different forum.

I will say this, remember that the people who are presenting this and teaching in these are your peers. They were all at the same place as you at one time, so whatever decision you make, think about how you would feel about it if you were on the other end.

I would say if you record it for personal viewing only it would be fine. Nobody would know about it. Only you.
If you record them and even 1 person sees it. It's bunk. I know of some guys in Detroit that have almost all of them recorded and pass them around like a cheap whore. Giving the whole set to newbs to study. It's bullshit.

It would be strictly for me. I have had private lessons in the past via wecam which was also recorded by the person who taught the lesson and it has helped a lot by going back and reviewing the information even after several years. If money is the issue with the teacher or company I would be happy to pay a lot more to compensate. The video instruction market has a lot of room to grow and advance. Not that I have the cash at the moment but I would be willing to put out some serious cash for recorded lessons to bring me up to higher skill levels. For the last 7 years I have been stuck in prodo land doing thousands of inexpensive pieces like spoons, chillums, bats, sherlocks and some bubblers ect. but mostly spoons and chillums.

I suggested to Dave that they should make DVD or Digital Download an option for a higher price, he seemed receptive to the idea, so maybe hit them up and let them know you'd be interested as well. There's a couple of those I would much rather have in real highdef on DVD rather than kinda buggy low res streaming.

Yea, I will mention that to him today. I would be happy with just digital download. Something I would also be interested in would be prodo tips and shop tips.

I finally got around to buying one of the replays. Do they all have that crap music playing over top of the video and discussion?

I paid to watch the demo and hear the artist do the description/commentary, but the music playing over top is extraordinarily distracting. Marcie Davis used to have music in her artist videos, but she at least stopped it while the artist was talking.

The music has separate controls, at least in the live version, where you can turn it all the way down. And as far as I know, it was only in the freddy one.
