Artist Bio:

Joel Meyers, aka "Jolex," has an extensive background in the industrial arts. He grew up in hardware stores in Minnesota, and took to steel sculpture and blacksmithing in high school and college. In 1999 he began making pipes in Seattle on a Victor welding torch. In 2003 He took a job at Karaba Glass and Metal, a soft glass factory in West Seattle. An interest in the cosmos, and a passion for color reactions led Joel to a distinct style of planetary glass work, which he is known for today. He makes spacey functional and non-functional creations in his Bothell, Washington home, with an emphasis on fuming and silver colors.
