4-stud GTT scorpion
cash in the bank ready to buy a scorpion 4 stud asap. gtt's wait is 4 months and I'm losing my workspace in 3. been working my ass off for this extra money for a year and I hit a wall of sh*t with GTT. I never buy used, but desperation will make you do funny things. running a platinum10 oxycon so I can't go any bigger than a scorp.

that's what I've noticed in my experience talking to them. between the no-callbacks and having to chase them down on the phone, I can't wait upwards of 6 months for a torch. I outgrew my (defect-ridden) megaminor and its just turned into a headache for me. in desperate need of an upgrade

Second that. Just get a Bravo.

Re: 4-stud GTT scorpion
Or.....
Buy one used like you planned .
Although I think the bravo will do just as well .
I think If I had to choose it would be a bravo .
Now if it was sidewinder or bravo I might lean toward sidewinder .
Your con will not be strong enuff to get 100 percent out of either .
In fact a minor on tanked would be twice the flame you currently have .
It's a common deal to think you get 10 Lpm with a 10 Lpm con
But to get good purity you can't push that hard .

bought a used scorpion yesterday. luckily I found one in decent shape.

Re: 4-stud GTT scorpion
@jr23 my 10L runs more than enough for the minor, and the flame gets chaotic and too unstable if i run it past 9L. I've also had flame Chem issues and whacked ports since I bought the nortel. it didn't take long to realize I needed more.
and the consumption rate for the bravo is 30lpm (says the internet) whereas the scorpion is 11-12. my 10l will run 12 no problem without a difference in flame appearance, quality etc. or setting off the purity alarms (using my smith to bleed off extra Oxy to test this specifically). I'm confident the scorpion will run as hot as I need it to. worst case i track down a 5L for the center fire. got them a dime a dozen on Craigslist for years. devilbiss oxycon usually sells for about $150-$200
