Default Information on a Woodland lathe I acquired...

Does anyone know of a resource that can help me get information about a Woodland Lathe model 53-50 that I recently acquired?

He hasn't made any lathes in many years. They were solid built well engineered machines. What do you want to know?

If it were possible.. I would like to know the history of the machine. Serial number is still on the machine. I would also like to get a schematic of the parts on the machine.
The lathe seems to run true, but I have not put it to the test quite yet. She needs a good cleaning and greasing before i can put her back in service.

    Thanks for the reply

Not much history archived on these machines. No schematics even when they were new. If you need parts or want it serviced I would contact Warner Siegel @ Warner Lathes. I think Warner bought woodland out back in the day but could be mistaken. He is the last of the guys I know that service these machines. They were built well but what you have is a larger machine that can be thrown out of tune by moving. You have gibs on the head stock and tail stock that can be adjusted to bring back to true.

Thank you for what information you have! I am assuming the gibs are adjuster screws on the face of the chuck?
