Looking for bench space in Philly, With lathe access preferably. Or Prodo work.
10+ years experience, Salem grad, looking to share shop space.
Also available to do prodo work. (I can do production at my location if it doesn't require lathe)
Currently set up in my house, going from a shop with free flowing o2 dewars and open lathes back to tanks is not ideal.
Possibly will relocate to West Chester, Phoenixville, or other burb for right situation.
Have my own tools, torches, etc. I don't have a lathe.

What ever you do try not to get lost in the city and if you do, dont stop when they ask you what time it is...they know exactly what time it is man lol..
Sounds like your from the area though and know this kinda thing considering you said West Chester and not just plain old Chester, because no one would ever want to go there for literally anything.

This is my 3rd try living in philly.
I'm in Feltonville, hadn't heard of it, it's great, dead quiet at night.
.
Now that I know how to live in a city there is nowhere in Philly where I don't feel comfortable walking in. I've been to lots of citys, philly is really friendly.
. (Except at night when the big gangs of young kids on bikes are out, if you see them, RUN, those little guys are monsters, (I'm sure not all the groups are bad, but I've personally been hit with a brick and I've heard stories )
West Chester is totally different from Chester, I love it, it's my hometown.
I moved to philly hoping to find or form a good shop group,
.
Years ago I was lucky enough to get to intern for Nate and Josh briefly when Gallery 908 was really hopping, but I was commuting in a VW van from W.C. so I was constantly late. I was just starting to get used to how they do things, then I had a really bad car accident ,vaporized the vw, broke some bones &teeth, & couldn't use my hands right for over a year. It's a real nagging regret, if I had been living in the city back then .....

Born Chester County hospital, lived on the west side of colorado for years though and moved back a couple years ago. But the "dub" is my hometown too. Which is why i wanted to let you these things in case your a homie from like Denver (my second city) or Eugene. Im sure theyd rather not get lot "up north" , or near "kensington and allegehny",13th & "Mc'kean", "somerset" or somewhere like that . Your right about the 15 year old flash mobs, crazy as shit. Sorry to hear about your van man, that sucks

Looks like your smack dab in the middle of some where you dont really want to get lost anyway lol, west chester makes you local though so your fine (you know what i mean haha). If you find a studio let me know, i have my 1 man studio about 45 mins from you but would love to know some other "local" melters. Maybe eventually colab with, who knows. I blow glass 50-65 hours a week and came here for friends so this might be "right up my ally" lol. Got any pics of what your currently working on?

Trippy! I was also born in chester county hospital, grew up in Landenberg (I had ZERO street smarts), and I also lived in Colorado, Boulder for a while, then Durango. Never lived in Eugene, always intended to spend some time there (did you happen to know Mandy Valcourt by some chance?). I lived in Arcata and McKinleyville for a couple years too.
I haven't taken pictures in a long time, I'm trying to get over a major phobia/block of social media and phones in general. I don't think I have a single picture of my work newer than 4-5 years old.
Ivery been mostly making marbles (trying to nail Tree of Life implosion marble with roots and such) and Boro beads, pendants, when I make pipes I go more sculptureal, and I like hobnails, I'm not big onmaking tons of wigwag sections. Ill take some pictures of pieces when I shoot the kiln.
Sure, I'd like to meet up sometime once I get all moved in and everything smooth (yea, moved in in april, but everything is still in storage!), it's always cool to work with other people and see how they do stuff.

Well ...Fine Citizens, turns out living in the Feltonville section of Philly is really nice! (Between the north east and north philly)
Beautiful streets n gardens, friendly people, very quiet at night, and completely mixed (zero racial tension whatever in my experience).
Still looking for space, haven't logged on in a long time, had set up in our house but that's not working out.
Waiting to hear from Voj, and pm Barry right now.
Thanks for the responses guys!
