Fuji PXV3 digital controller

• can only have 1 program with 4 ramp/soak times
• can set kiln at temperature to garage glass while you are working, then start program when you’re done
• to change main set point when reading temperature, press select once – SV light will light up – use up and down keys to change temperature (when SV light is lit and you’re changing it, it’s like changing the heater setting in your house, maintains indefinitely)
• SV-1 (looks like “Sū-1” on controller display) = set point for the temperature of the kiln, expressed in degrees
• TM1r (looks like “7n1r” on controller display) = ramping time between two temperature set points
• TM1S (looks like “7n1S” on controller display) = soak time at temperature set point

to program controller for first ramp/soak period (SV-1):
1. press select key and hold until P shows up
2. with down arrow key, scroll down to SV-1: press select: set to first temperature, and hit select
3. scroll down to 7n1r: press select: set to desired ramping time to that temp (display shows hours.minutes, so for 1.5 hours, it would read 1.30); press select
4. scroll down to 7n1S: press select: set to desired soak time (display shows hours.minutes); press select
5. follow the same procedure for SV-2, -3, and -4, likewise 7n2, -3, -4 -r and –S
6. Nod: this is at the bottom of the P-list: selecting -4- turns everything off when program is done running

to run program:
1. press select key and hold until roFF shows. use up and down arrow keys to select rrUn, press select
2. if you’re in the middle of running a program, and you want to pause the program, and hold the kiln at that temperature, go to the roFF menu and select rHLd, and press select

for those curious, here’s the program I set up for myself – I’m just getting started, so this is completely subject to change, and as always, your mileage may vary

• I want to garage my glass at 950°F while I’m working
• hold at 950°F for 1.5 hours for annealing
• ramp down to 850°F over 2 hours
• hold at 850°F for ½ hour
• ramp down to 650°F over 2 hours
• no hold at 650°F
• ramp down to 60°F (ambient temp) over 3.5 hours

to program controller:

• TM1S: 1.30
• SV-2: 850°F
