Hope you can make it too Misha. More and more people from the forum are coming to our event. I've been pushing the local newbs to chime into the forum as well. You can see it in their eyes after the project. They want more information.

Lacey in the house!

03-08-2016, 03:08 PM
Chunk is as sweet as they come. He is another one of our MGP MVPs. He is always rolling proper with a snack pack of handmade treats and has left us with some very nice pieces over the years. CHUNK!!!!

03-08-2016, 03:11 PM
Germ is one of those fellas that brings an edge to the game you want to see. This is his second year and we are happy to see him return. Don't let his smile fool you, it is backed with some pretty quick quips.

03-08-2016, 03:22 PM
One of our best ideas Blade ever had was to insist that Karl Taylor come to our first event and help us set up the oxygen lines. He has helped us build a loop system that can be expanded infinitely without loosing pressure. We are forever grateful to Grimm for his deeds and do goodings not only with us but with the Arizona Project as well. It is my great pleasure to announce that he will be joining us in July and we could not be happier. Thank you bud. You rock!

03-10-2016, 09:59 AM
Goddamn this really is gonna be epic

03-16-2016, 03:17 PM
Chad G's approach to ‪glass‬ is inspired by the world around him. From trees to cheese he makes objects he sees.  We are happy to have him back for his second year with us at the ‪2016 MGP‬!

03-16-2016, 03:21 PM
"If glass blowing were kickball, you would pick @jredglass first to be on your team." -@bowlpusher ⛹ He is a versatile and inventive artist whose mastery skill set include quartz, fillas, crucibles and a wild grafitti infused style that radiates. We are proud to announce his return to Detroit for his third year!

03-18-2016, 09:02 PM
The Hermit comes out of his shell to join us! This was a complete surprise. I'm sure Talon and Chunk had something to do with getting him out here. Welcome the H in THC to the project.

03-19-2016, 08:20 AM
This year is going to be so epic!! So stoked for you guys.

03-23-2016, 03:44 PM

Here is the hotel information.

03-23-2016, 03:47 PM
Joe Comer must be the most patient man in the industry. I've watched him work for hours on end on a flip. Come and see him demonstrate at the project.

06-08-2016, 09:50 AM
Are you ready. This is going to be epic.

06-08-2016, 10:46 AM
One day I'll have to head up that way. I'm only minutes from chads house. I'll have to go bs with him about this

"I think people are starring too deeply into my belly button."

I look forward to seeing Chad again. He killed it last year and left us with a ton of valuable work. There is something to be said for the guys who come out to these things and throw down %110.

Edit- lol meant to send a pm. Lol

As we approach The Michigan Glass Project main event in July we have started to thicken the plot. What we would like to ask is for attending artists to bring one or more marbles to be showcased at our after party Friday night at the oh so appropriately named Marble Bar here in Detroit. With a name like that, marble show is a no brainer!

This is an open invite to all glass artists in attendance. We will not accept marbles by mail. We are looking for a wide variety of artists to participate and would call upon those who rarely make things round to dust off their marble molds and bring one to the party for a little show and tell. The more work we have on display the better.

The marble show will be a consignment show with 20% of the final sale price going to the project and 80% going to the artists. Proceeds benefit Art Road and the return of elementary art programming to Detroit Public Schools.
All sales will be handled by a cashier who will immediately break off the artist share. If you are bringing a larger display of marbles, please contact us to arrange table space and electricity for lighting. We will provide table space, marble rings, lighting, and signage. Please register with us before hand to make this all as smooth as eggs.

We ask that you bring the orbs to the event one hour prior to the party starting so that we can appropriately name tag and price pieces. If you have any ideas, questions, or more importantly, suggestions. Please contact us at info@themichiganglassproject.com.

If you have glass artist friends who are attending the show, please feel free to forward this email on. Help us spread the word and fill the Marble Bar with marbles!!
-Drew and Allison MGP

07-04-2016, 11:22 AM
Nice :D I really wish I could make it again this year. Hopefully next.

07-05-2016, 10:21 AM
We will be providing space and encouraging MACA lovers everywhere to display their collections and work inside the mansion at our Saturday night garden party at The Whitney Restaurant - Detroit along with providing a space at The Michigan Glass Project on Sunday during the main event!
Please contact Ben Birney for details on displaying your milli!
Please spread the word!

We had an awesome time this weekend. I didn't get to make the 420 sesh in the alley sunday, I was still torching, but I met a few TMP members, and saw some AMAZING glass. For my demo I did a sherlock collab with my shop mate. He made a dichro Illego and I made a sherlock and made the illego spin :).

I already can't wait for next year, and its gonna be exciting to see how much money was raised for the Art Road Detroit program. MGP had such a killer lineup this year and the event just keeps getting bigger and better.

Big Thanks to the whole MGP crew and volunteers for all your hard work.

07-25-2016, 11:22 AM
Awesome pic :)

07-25-2016, 05:45 PM
Thanks, my wife wanted to at least get a couple shots of it since we wouldn't get to see it after it was annealed. I made the offer that if someone can send me some finished shots or a video I'd send them a pendant :).

07-29-2016, 11:36 AM
I would like to thank err body for showing support and coming out. This year was fucking epic. The event surpassed all of our expectations. Be on the look out for a giant check with lots of zeros.... Thank you so much for being a part of this massive event. I have a feeling that projects are going to start popping up all over the place.

07-29-2016, 12:02 PM
Couldn't make it but watched with envy as just about everyone I know filled Facebook and Instagram with photos from the event. I need to make time in my life to get to events like these.

07-30-2016, 10:29 AM
I missed the 420 sesh too. Didn't notice the time until 5. Did anyone make it?

07-30-2016, 12:31 PM
i was there. :chilling:

07-30-2016, 05:53 PM
Why didn't you grab me?! This might be the first time you have ever disappointed me.

08-01-2016, 08:13 PM
Good times were had by all. <3
