Dear Luke,

I really wanted to help you and your family out after the financial turmoil resulting from your house fire, the roof accident and the flood. Only because you mentioned you have young children. Our four kids are all grown up now but I know what it's like when you've got young kids and with all those disasters going on, it must have been hard for them.

For the good and benefit of fellow purchasers, please allow me to show the record of events;
7May: ordered the pick, requested payment details for PayPal.
19May: PayPal transaction complete.
3Jun: 'It should go out Monday'.
16Jun: 'Thought the wife sent it but it's still in the glove box -will go out Monday'.
5Jul: If you don't have it I assume it got lost. I'll send out 1 more'.
7Jul: 'It's going out Monday, taking Monday off to deal with the tool fiasco'.

As you know I'm a very patient person but after what is it, seven weeks? since paying you for the item, I learn it will ship this coming Monday.

I would say that is a reasonable amount of time to wait for the item but now it is taking advantage of my good nature.

I've posted this same message on GLDG and LWE, so you must see it on one of those forums. Please don't pm me, but instead reply in this thread, so that we are both on the same level and I might suggest that other people would benefit from reading your response. Also that you will have a fair public forum to explain your situation.

Luke it isn't my intention to embarass you okay. I still believe you are a genuine person, but I genuinely notice that you cannot keep up with your orders, and I genuinely need the pick.

Therefore can I please request that you return the money I sent you on 19th of May so that I can source the item elsewhere.

Hey Luke this just reminded me I still have some tungstin I was going to send you weeks ago and got caught up with up with other stuff and totaly spaced it. So I know it can happen to even the best of us.

To any one that ordered stuff from luke I can say with 100% confidance that he's not going to rip any on off. Even if he might need a boot in the ass to get it shipped.

I am truly sorry for the wait and have no excuses worth repeating. Monday is the day all orders will be straightened out. My wife will be taking on the tool makin if she can pick it up. I however am pulling my cards on the tool game for now. Running a tattoo shop and raising my girls already keeps me from getting on the torch much, so the tools can go to the back burner until things slow down a bit. All tools that are paid for are being sent out monday. I understand compleatly if anyone is pissed, I would be at this point. All I can do is say I am sorry.

Well...MANY of us are still waiting on the tools we ordered 8+ weeks ago from Luke. Now I'm not exactly sure how one kicks him in the behind to get him moving, but he said things were mailed a week ago and obviously that's not the case.

You know, it amazes me....if people try to help another person it seems quite often the end result is not good....guess that's why they say "No good deed goes unpunished" ..... $37 is important to my studio checkbook. Really fed up and know I've been taken....Smutboy 420, how is that crow you are having to eat????

Just get how ever many orders you have take that many enevolops.
right your return address on them all then take the first one and write down the first customers address and on the inside envolope flap write down what they get and how many. Do that till you got your list knocked out. then stuff each one with what you joted on the flap of each one and lick it and stick it. then take to post office. mail them. Wham bam thank you mam.

I'm just really baffled....he posted he was taking a couple days off to finish the tools and get them in the mail...then posted that they were all done and mailed and would send tracking # the next day (?July 12)....now he told me via phone that he turned it all over to his Dad in CA about 2 weeks ago....what is it they say about stories that unravel???

Anyway, I think there are still quite a few people on LE that are sans-tools ordered from Baylie...while each of us is a small $$ figure potentiall, they sum might be a nice juicy little number!

What a mucked up mess! Hope he got some good out of those $$ because I'm thinking nobody is going to be anxious to deal with him after this....

Today's mail brought a package containing 4 brass poke tools....they came from EBB in Eugene, OR. I'm assuming that somehow these reference back to the order placed with Baylie in early May...but confusing as he said the orders were filled and sent by his Dad in CA....

Brief note said that they were out of tungsten...guess that's why I got 4 poke tools.

As for the posting on LE....really ugly from Mrs. Baylie....it did make me say hummm that there was suddenly "limited computer access" within 10 minutes of my phone conversation....the one where he hung up on me.

Consider this a closed chapter...and MODS..please flush this thread in a couple of days. Thanks to all.

Reason being there is a commercial supplier on this very forum that swears blind they sent an instructional DVD and even send the USPS shipping number and suggest I contact USPS myself to track it as the tracking reference is not recognised on the USPS website.

ask them for the # again and ask them to track the package for you also. I know from experience it is hard to keep track of everything happening in a retail glass supply business. They should look at it as a learning experience in the customer service department and be glad to help.

Swampy, sounds like you are having one helluva time ordering items. First the tungsten, now the instructional video. Ordering items from reputable businesses is key. Seems it goes without saying but some people need the obvious pointed out to them. I understand you are in Belize so finding a company who understands your situation is of the utmost importance.
You need a supplier who understands your shipping needs, and the fact that when you order something, youre not just expecting the item, youre relying on the person on the other end of the transaction to understand you NEED the item to continue your method of supporting yourself, feeding your loved ones, and keeping a roof over everyones head. Sometimes this requires opening a big ol' can of whoop-ass.
I used to live on the northern coast of British Columbia and I know the trials of having suppliers ship and mis-ship items internationally. Forming relationships with suppliers is extremely important. That way everyone knows where everyone else is coming from and, voila, no surprises.

I'm sure you know all of this. But according to this thread a simple situation blew up and several people almost got screwed. I'm not sure if there is some sort of reputation meter in the classifieds. There should be.

Our industry, whether we want to admit it or not, is absolutely filled with losers, liars, and a**holes.

The mods of this site should do everything they can to protect the users from them. In fact why not order tools from Generations, Glasscraft, or, dare I say it, even Wale. Make your own tools or ransack your local second hand store, you'd be surprised what you might find. And when you do get your hands on that long sought after tool, mark it with tape or a sharpy if you work in a group situation to identify, and treat it well cuz you never know what the hell you might have to go through to get another.

Fortunately I'm retired and just doing this for fun/to satisfy my creativity so just as well eh.

I can say there was more accounatability and honesty before there was ordering online. Everything goes in an upward spiral anyway, so accountability and honesty will return, probably when it goes to video phone, even if only so you can show the viewer at the other end your longest finger if you want to heh heh

I'll need to replenish glass stock at some stage so I'm trying to source in Mexico or Venezuela, to save shipping see. The nearest supplier in the US is Art Glass House in Florida but according to their site they only supply wholesale.

and I always found word of mouth is definately the best recommendation, so if you have feedback good or bad, make sure you spread the word okay. If you've learned anything from this site, look at it as your contribution to putting something back in for the good and benefit of everyone else.

Three simple questions for the moderators;

If a board member were to have contributed to the upkeep of the board (like I did), does the board member then have more consideration in their requests than a freeloader?

If a board member was found to have scammed other members of the board, would you ban the offender?

Particularly, if more than one board member had been victim of the same scam.

If the offender then changed their username, the moderator would still be able to track their address, right?

Originally..I stuck up for him, having just met him, and thought he had a well intentioned mind...until I saw he hadn't sent out tools ordered, then I decided to let him post the whys and how comes...I see he hasn't posted in some time, I hope it isn't from the tool orders, or slacking from. Thats no reason to dissapear from the forum...you make good on what you offered, apoligize for the slacking and return with a new attitude. I guess he talked this vendor dude who had a soda machine at Public Enemy (a tattoo/headshop) into "loaning" him 5K for a delta and Aim and promised to repay him extra. I believe his exact words to me about it were "Haha yeah this guy's wife just divorced him and took his house and kids and I got the last $5000. haha.) I have been combing through old emails for a couple hours trying to find your address, unsucessfully, all I can find is a reciept for your paypal payment where you say you'll email the address. Of course, I'd say PM it to me, but you can't, so that's where that stands. I will however continue to look for it, and the USPS confirmation email, but even if I don't find that, you'll get your precious $11 as soon as possible. One bonus came out of me finding the paypal reciepts is that now I have proof that you're the only one left claiming to have not recieved your tools (that is, the only one who actually paid who is still claiming a debt on this issue)

And I guess I can see how Dan would mistake a frit tool for a crack pipe, since he never was able to use frit properly, I guess he just assumed it was something he was familiar with....

Amusement? Luke apologized personally, repeatedly, to everyone who was inconvenienced by this situation, and it was never his intent to rip anyone off, shit just happened that screwed up the orders. God forbid it ever happens to any of you. And before anyone tries to say I'm being a bitch about it and that's why everyone is being so hurtful and rude, I'd like to point out once again, this topic is nearly a year old, apologies were made, products were shipped, and refunds were sent. point 4. Misha did not deal with it personaly. she is admin and it was inacted due to judgment of the whole staff here. and we support it. due to behavior etc like this. And WE acted apon this as soon as we could consult the staff on the subject. which you see was about 13 mins.

point 5. we are a community and we stick up for one another. when this started we thought we were helping a fellow in the community as far as we knew. and how this was delt with etc has looked bad on many of us trying to help the community. and when the lateness started we gave month and months for a resolution. we all thought he would make good and buck up. the fact that its going on this long has hurt his rep. There has also been scams and shams that have hurt many hard working people in . and we watch out for them thats what a community does and will warn people that are untrust worthy.

I think i can personaly say if you Lag on stuff thats cool just keep people up to date we are all pretty compasionate people when we know what is going on. and it does get straightend out eventualy.

as for every thing you are dragged into this because you are attached to him. you did that yourself. your married/gf etc i dont know your relaship but you should realize that you two are accountable for each other to an extent. while you are togeather. you also stuck up for him. and became his mouth peice. so of course you get the brunt of the damage.

That is not what I meant at all. Just want to smash this thread. I am all for giving folks what they paid for. I am just done with making those tools and the stress that that whole fiasco caused. I would love to go over there and clear that up, but I am not able to log into that site. Not a whole lot that I can do about it. Anyone from LWE that feels I owe them can pm me here I guess, but I still can't get on that board. As far as I know everyone over there either received their tools or a refund. My ex was in charge of cashing the checks and giving me the orders. I quit making the tools and she sent the list of pre paid orders to my father who made the rest of the tools and sent them out. On the second or third page of this thread the woman who started this thread said she had received her tools ( I believe he sent the wrong ones). After I was banned I had no access to my pms from either board. Most of the orders were made through pm so I had no way to go back and look. That is why I want anyone with a legit claim to let me know. I do not work with brass anymore, but I still have my tools, I can whip out a few pokeys and send them out if need be. I am sorry for any trouble this caused anyone and my intent was never to short anyone or screw anyone over. I just plain got overwhelmed with life and let things fall through the cracks. I just want to make things right. That is why my first post back was pointing out that I want to clean up that mess. Thanks for your time.

I realize you claim you never received your tool. It was sent out. I apologized then, and apologize again that you did not receive it. I however did send it. You got your money back. I am trying to make things right. What more can I do? I am not trying to "wriggle", I am trying to make things right. I was not allowed to post on this forum for quite some time. As soon as I was allowed back my first post was alerting folks that I was back and trying to make things right.

...i posted over there for you luke since you cant access your account. i think the last time i was over there was when this thread was going on but i was able to log in. i just told them you wanted to straighten out any outstanding accounts and werent able to log on over there. hopefully you will be able to confirm all the orders were filled or refunded or are even somehow.

I have no way to access my PMs over there so I have no way to verify anyone's claims. I appreciate you posting over there. I just want this to get dealt with. I never intended to short anyone. I am on here trying to make things right. If I was able to log in over there I would say the same thing,"if you ordered and paid, but did not get your tools I will give you your tool(s)".
