Here is a quick little guy I made to show my apprentice some basic tricks.

(Didn't notice it focused on the background until I uploaded it)
A couple more pendants from over the weekend...
It is just a clear prodo piece but this design will keep you on your toes during the build.
A few more and I think I will have it dialed in.
Love all the diversity in this thread...
Keep em coming.
Few collabs from this week. First one is with Jesse Haskins JJMFH. Second is with Pubz. Had a lot of fun with these!

Encasing the California shaped opal was scary, but it went perfectly. Stoked, thanks to whoever mentioned something about popping a hole in the side of the tube so I can poke the opal into the edge. It really helps. :)
Also, opals are a bitch to photograph. So is sparkle. This marble was a challenge to shoot. :lol

thats cool misha. abt how far in does the opal sit? it seems pretty close to the surface - is that safer than say deeper encasement?
That marble is really cool. The opal looks perfect. Great job!
Thanks :D The green is mighty moss by TAG. Loving that color lately.
Opals are safer with more clear around them. It is pretty far in, maybe 6mm of clear over it and 10 under/around it. Still they are not compatible with glass. I hear a lot of people say that eventually with time they will break, but I myself have never seen that happen. I have left opals on the shelves for 15 years and they are in tact. So when is "eventually"? I'm not worried about it. I have had them crack the same/next day when I mess up, but other than user error I feel they are safe to use in our glass.
Noah Miller (Squirrel on here) did the first crushed opal tube I ever saw. He gave me this chillium with crushed opals all over it, blue tube, in 2003 at West Coast Collab. I've dropped it before, oops. No cracks. Seems pretty dang safe to me. :D
thanks! i'm not a huge opal nut like i have seen some of the custom work. Saw a rig the other day with like 13 opal marbles attached all over the place. i appreciate it as i understand its a skill to do. but i think its too much of a good thing. loving the one - accent - type on this marble. someday im gonna have to buy one of your marbs
I would love to make you a marble one day, Jack. I love making customs more than making just whatever. I made this for a dear friend.

So this is all of them I made yesterday. Feels good to have a design somewhat solidified. Silver so shinny you can see my nub tattoo.
Damn! Nice. And I like the mirror effect. :D
