i'm one who strives to find the best information. i see a whole pile of posts about getting good bends by getting it really hot, then you say do it really cold, so i am wondering now which info is correct, is that a crime? sorry for trying to be sure. thanks for your help i guess. maybe you could elaborate instead of lol, if you really want to be helpful
go back and look at the last couple pages of my worked curves, they are all pretty nice, not lumpy at all really. i guess this one was a bit uglier and it rubbed ya the wrong way.

Sorry man, but that IS lumpy. Maybe you don't see the problem.
Nothing personal man, just sayin'.
there's a bulge above the joint thats supposed to be there, and a rise above the bend at the bell thats supposed to be there too, are those the lumps you speak of? i also see a very mild uneveness in the straight section, is that lumpy to you too or what? i dont care if you say stuff, just be more specific please, so its more helpful.
Okay...
The highlighted spots are lumps (to me). They ruin the flow of the bend.
The part between A and B is narrower than the rest of that part of the bend, so it looks a little squashed (which is hard, for me at least, to avoid on such a tight bend). This could mean a thinner wall thickness on the top of the bend.
B is a bit of a lump probably because of the narrow part, maybe because of the marble, maybe it's just the pic.
C is a lump, just uneven heating or wall thickness?
D the inside of the bend is pinched and is probably way thicker than the outside of the bend which looks stretched.
It's really not that bad, but you asked...
Check out the flow on these bends.
Do you see the difference?

ya i dunno dave, sure you make the odd flower n stuff, but mostly i just seen you copying the curve design a lot. i dont only make curve shit either, but its a way to earn a living isnt it?

thanks man thats more info by far, i appreciate it. well Adam G is a bit of a pro, and i only have 6 months practice so far, so like i said before, im working on it all. Tube bending is not one of the easiest things to do well is it now? As for the last part D, its supposd to be pinched there, for proper function. Like i said, im at 6 months, give me a couple years and you may not have so much to nitpick about. But even as flawed as you make it out to be, I am selling that curve for about 100$, when it has its wire work added. sold a few similar for about 120 now.
what kinda car you got , thats what I want to know,, that seat looks pretty old..
and I say lumpy aint to bad I cant make a smooth piece so smooth lumps is where its at,.![]()
thanks for dropping by skillzthats an old barber chair.
its been a long time since I tried doing any half color half clear linework, when I did it sucked. When you lay your stripes or stacks, are you laying down clear on the other side to keep the wall thickness consistent all the way around? I like the way yours is coming out and would love some pointers.
Those half clear pieces are made by lorax...
I didn't realize that either.
some of my latest junk. not too good luck on shaping this big goblet, im not sure how to approach it yet. try again. the glass is my first totally failed goblet attempt, or what i saved of it![]()
some quick advice...... to bend tubing if you want to make a 45 degree bend you have to heat up twice the diameter of the tube for an even bend. adjust the ratio according to how far you want your tube to bend.

Why not try clear goblets first? If you do not have an understanding of the very basics, trying to do a multi section cup with wig wags is just going to frustrate you.
Over reaching is fun and all, but starting out from square one is usually more beneficial.
