i dont know about a Jlee curve, never held one yet, but Devol ones are too airy imo. most peoples copies are not made well for function. i have made my fair share of crappy functioning curves too in my earlier work, but mainly due to inability to control glass, not from mediocre design. i have had people ask me to replace their curves for almost a dozen well known artists' vaping units now, including Devol. although many artists make great art and nice lil bubs, it seems almost without exception the curves are not so great for function.

Oh brother....
When you gonna start talking crap about the functionality of J Lees curves? Cuz that will be some entertainment.

Re: HMK's mediocre glass thread
devols got mad skills, jlee does too and i dont think they would waste their time on this lol
But back to the subject @ hand, kut those new couple units are pretty boss. The one with the flag milli is good and looking clean, but the next two look like a little step up!

I got to test oil can #1 not too long ago. In my opinion the curve was too airy and there was too much diffusion. Taking dabs out of my hmk unit got me wayyy more medicated!

How much is one of those fine pieces of art gonna run me hmk??

Can stop hitting me up when he gets off work at 7 in the morning. Lol

Re: HMK's mediocre glass thread
id like to hear more on how the shape of the curve makes for a better hit?? i dont see how..especially if lets say a HMK curve with a 14mm joint and a devol curve with a 14mm joint....either way the smoke is passin the same 14mm joint and the same 3 hole diffy... so i would think the better function part is gonna come from the oil rig its self...not the 9 or 12mm tube used for the curve.. cause if a curve has some kind of bend or restriction to"help" the function, the smoke still has to go thru the diffy which i feel zeros out the BETTER FUCTIONING CURVE idea..cause the actual fuction is comming from the rig..
Who are you to judge the life i live? i know im not perfect and i dont live to be but before you start pointing fingers, make sure your hands are clean--Bob Marley

Re: HMK's mediocre glass thread
nope wrong. the most effect on the flowpath is at the curve and the mouthpiece, as long as the internal diameters in a rig are all greater than those. smaller rigs in general are much nicer to hit too. i cant explain that fully, except maybe the vapor gets less diffused, and has a more dense flow thru in a smaller unit.

there ya go dom, i dont have to. like i said many times, its nice that many of the greats are copying the curves, but just because they do much nicer art, doesnt mean they do the best r and d now do it?

Re: HMK's mediocre glass thread
What Kut is saying makes sense. The tighter diameter the curve the more suction pulling the smoke up the curve. I do feel as if one put a constriction at the end of their 14mm tube right before the flair it would function just as well as one that is 10mm up to the joint.

Re: HMK's mediocre glass thread
how big a curve is it? i heard about some large bells and glass paddle setups. i didnt hear about them until after i had thought of my candy cane style idea, but thats besides the point. its cool others thought of it too. too bad they never made hundreds of them for others, people really like em, especially with the titanium swingarm part, which i'm sure the old guy in the 70s didnt have on his.

Re: HMK's mediocre glass thread
well sort of kato it felt a breeze and not so humid i think a front is moving in.
"invented that". I have seen it in head shops 15 years ago on plastic graffix bongs for hash. plenty of people can have similar ideas and adapt concepts. perhaps you have seen one before forgot and came up with it or not. any how, honestly,
its just the ti pad swing thing now interesting
post some pics of the wraps i NEED to see close ups 4 real!!!
