Well, my mailman steal packages from me and has done it numerous times. I think he has struck again because my box said it was supposed to be delivered yesterday. I am really upset. I hope that SOB delivers them today. I have reported his ass directly to the postmaster general 3 times and they do nothing(I even have surveillance tapes of him not delivering when he has claimed to) . If I don't get that package today I'm going to the local news. This is some BS!

Well, that makes me feel a little better. The only thing is that somebody south of me got theirs already.

Don't stress it, Albuquerque is a big sorting hub for the southwest. USPS and FedEx both have major facilities here (cheap land, cheap airport rates, major Interstate crossing I-25/I-40, cheap labor, stable weather). Plus I am on a commercial route, not a residential route, I've found parcels (boxes) get to my shop about a day faster than they get to my house. It could also be that my zipcode for my shop is in the same zipcode as the Airport mail sorting center, and my house isn't, meaning there's one more transfer when it gets to town before it can get to my house, but comes straight from airport to my shop.

It's not uncommon for things to get to me 1 or 2 days before the estimates (my tracking says it will be here by end of the day today, I got it early yesterday).

Well, mailman has come and gone and only dropped off one bill. GOD DAMNIT!!!

I was checking the tracking info and it just said it left PA. Why is my package for Fl In Pa? This is exactly how my torch got lost last time, went to the same sort facility and everything. Going postal is no longer for postmen.

I had some tools shipped from AZ to NC. They went to HI first.

I offered to go pick them up (at the expense of USPS) but they declined my generous offer.

I'm pretty sure I know what happened because it has happened before. The mailman feels a box that seems like it has something expensive in it, he jacks it, and marks the package as return to sender, but the package never actually gets scanned.

I know it sounds unbelievable, I had to listen to this non sense in person. So I ask, "how is my package showing as departing this destination?" It's not the actual package they tell me, it's the bulk code that it was assigned to. So the actual package isn't in it, it's just a phantom. With my torch I was following it all over the country and then like 45 days later I think it showed up back at the senders house beat to shit.

The story goes, the mail man delivered it to the wrong address but the person there signed for it, but didn't accept it.... yeah sounds legit right?

So supposedly this mail man takes my package back to the post office and just dumps it in the return bin and forgets to scan that he had done so. Well, coincidentally the sorter forgot or missed scanning it as well.

I was doing this all the day this package supposedly got delievered because I was watching the tracking very carefully. When that thing said signed and delivered I ran straight to the post.

I was on the phone with somebody from the post for the next 45 days daily and they gave me such a run around. They also told me since it was insure that I had one of three choices. I could have the package investigated and tracked, I could claim the insurance, but they won't even start investigating a claim for 60 days, and if they deem that you were at fault they will not pay you, or you can have you post man investigated.

Now I was told by several different people at several different office that this is standard operating procedure. You have the choice of one and one only. You can not combine. Either you try to find it, or you might get your money, but definitely not both.

I wish I knew how many other things that I wasn't expecting got stolen.

damn that really sucks. much like cops and doctors, you should be able to trust your mail carrier 100%. usps should take that shit more seriously.

    Mike,

That's exactly how I feel. I feel completely betrayed. The one thing that used to be a huge backbone of America. The American government tells me how I should relinquish my personal power and let them take care of me completely? I can't even get a box to my house, how are you gonna protect me?

Somebody post some pictures of their marbles quick so I don't cry

Man, I hate that for you. I was a letter carrier for many years and finally, after having a splendidly stupid boss one time, I decided that I really did want to go back to college and finish so I left. I cannot begin to tell you how much of a miracle it is that your mail gets to anywhere on a daily basis. I also hate to tell you that while I have never seen someone steal an item, I have seen levels of carelessness that would make you sick to your stomach. As far as the claim... That is indeed how it works. However on that note you have to understand that because people abused it when it was less restrictive, it has become ridiculously restrictive.

Keep looking, the Mibs may still be in the mail!

I guess I understand tightening restriction because of abuse, but the fact that they can basically tell you to go ef off even when there is insurance should really raise people's concerns. I had no idea the post office was this corrupt until I started having to ship all the time.

I also think the fact that they told me I could choose one of three choices and if I picked one I was completely screwed out of the others and they say it like its no big deal, really pisses me off.

I don't get how those can be options

1- insurance claim, will start investigation 60 after schedule arrival of package. If they are found negligent(which they won't be, because they will lie) they will give you your money.

2- They investigate and try to locate your package and return it to you, but if you do this and they can't find it, you cannot file an insurance claim.

3- You have the post man investigated, if it is found that he has your package it will be returned, and they give you some guarantee of that post man not running your route again. However, if you choose this route you cannot have your package located, or claim insurance.

How absurd is that? Is it just me? Am I just too emotional over this lol!?

I personally would go with number three... A carrier does not want a postal inspector after him. Its not fun...If you are doing something wrong they will catch you.

As to the others, the majority of folks who work at the PO are good people who do their best to get your mail to you on time. It is not an easy job. It sounds like you have a bad apple of a carrier, deal with that and it may solve problems in the future. The inspectors look into fraud quickly and intensely.

I enjoyed the job, loved walking my routes. Only problem was I have an issue with taking directions from a slack jawed mouth breather, and boy was that man a mouth breather who would stab is own mother if he got something out of it.

I am totally relived about the exchange - I took a chance that you artists would embrace something totally different using the science of metallic reactions in a silicate base. Of course the marbles are not HUGE but the Earth tones were obtained by using reactive glass with non-reactive glass rods over a white base, then "arted up." Metals can be polished and made shiny but when mixed with glass they revert to the organic colors you saw (if you received any of mine). Organic blending occurs and several colors come from just using two rods depending on which metals were used when the original colored glass was made. It isn't anything like the reactions one gets with Boro but it happens with white opaque base soft glass. I spent about 8 months studying chemical reactions under very high heat and keeping notes. The marbles were made using soft glass.

Thank you for your kind comments.

Thanks for the tips Joe. You're absolutely right. I should have him followed by the inspector. I was so clouded by my feelings I didn't even realize how pertinent of an option that was. Obviously my post master general is also crooked, but he's not delivering my mail, so if this guy got transferred to a different route or fired I think that would solve mine and my neighbors problems.

Somebody suggested last night that I put up posters in the neighborhood asking if anybody else has had problems with the mail and then post and email address for the people to respond to. Then I could go in with a bunch of ammo next time.

Joe, I also know that most of people in general are ok people. I try to never lump a group of people together and call them all bad. Just in this instance, it feels like the whole post is against me. I know it's not true, just my feelings running wild. Hell I know several people that have told me they are friends with their courier.
