Torch? keeping options open.
I'm am currently working on a Major Minor. I'm looking to invest in a second torch now. I don't have a specific torch set in mind. So if you have a torch for sale of any sort, hand-held or bench, I would greatly appreciate if you could post some pics and a price in reply ^.^ Thank you very much!!

Re: Torch? keeping options open.
I just bought a package deal with a Lynx in it . It a older well used one but I will buff it out test it and get rid of it . Although I wanted to keep it for a while I don't have a Lynx around right now.
But if your on a budget that's a good burner that will keep you in the heat.
I have some vintage stuff with nice flames a fisher . It has a pre mix center and a really nice surface mix outer fire about bravo size with nice laminar flow .
But I want it to got to a vet that knows about burners . It is basically new old stock and not beat to shit like the eBay ones .
It's 350.
Once the Lynx gets here and I play with it I will know what's up but leaning on keeping
But then again I don't keep any torch forever . Lol

Re: Torch? keeping options open.
I know lots of folks including me just slapped a Lynx above a major or a red max and really go to town .
The major and red max are both used by lathe workers and can heat bigger stuff.
It's the minor on that set up that needs the help.
Do you run a surface or pre mix top.
Also what is your budget.

Re: Torch? keeping options open.
Sorry I cannot say anything good about the major, if it was a selling post I would have not said anything but since your comparing what you use to others I would say clean it out and sell it then buy a bravo and you'll really appreciate a nicely built burner. The major is a carbon hog and has to be cleaned constantly, a bravo has no carbon and is so much nicer on color and tube work! That's my opinion for you bro.

Re: Torch? keeping options open.
Oh I am not a fan of the major but you have to work with what you got somtimes .
And there are still guys rocking them here and there.
I have seen plenty of pics of Ham using majors in the lathe .
But that's here nor there . We will keep our eyes peeled .
Although I usually don't alert others to eBay deals.
There is a charity auction for a bravo. You can help a charity and get yourself a nice burner.
Or buy the red max upgrade for 200 . That's what I did.
Then I had a local that loaned his maj/minor to anothe guy who broke it.
I was able to sell trade my major head to them and got paid for labor.
So you have lots of options .

Re: Torch? keeping options open.
But that bravo you got will blow that major away! Bravos are my favorite size new generation beths( same as tigershark) but now I'm saving for the grand with bravo midfire :-) then I can really compare it to my kobuki!

Re: Torch? keeping options open.
The op contacted me about a torch I don't think she is actually ready to buy I texted back and forth for days . Pics . Building her a package deal with almost every tool on her wish list . She even said it's a deal. Then never answered a text when time to send invoice. I call window shopper on this one . Which is odd because she missed several torches I had for sale and contacted me threw pm . I said I would keep a eye out . It's funny how people want to shop until it's time to pay lol
