The term for a furnace used solely for reheating and finishing of a glass object during manufacture. Traditionally, it is the small opening in the side of a furnace where glass is gathered or reheated; and is an nineteenth century improvement over annealing ovens. Contemporarily, the term is used for any furnace used solely to reheat a glass object while being production.
