good ideas yall! Im wondering if the rain cap that was on RV for the vent all ready is blocking alot of the air flow as well. Its not so easy to just run and get stuff in the RV so I def need a good plan![]()

id take out the cabnits and build a hood in there place and just use ducting to duct it to your fan...i think its ur best bet... i dont think u need a strionger fan.. a 1350 cfm is what i think u said u had.. that should be good enough to clear out that space.. make a hood and duct the rest and ull be fine...make sure you use 16" ducting other wise ull loose CFM

Cut the bottom out of the cabinet and put a fan in the wall behind it? Making the cabinet into a hood....

ditch the rain cap, yea probably obstructing flow, seriously? here is a link to windows for trailers, you just cut a hole, get some screws and sealant and go for it. http://www.motionwindows.com/prod1800.php
And that is the problem. You need a defined hood and it needs to be under cabinets that are over bench and it should pull/push directly out side of camper. The roof vent /fan is to small and in wrong location, it is not ventilation, its directed air flow for "breathing" only and not nearly sufficient for hot glass work.

Does it help to take off the rain cap when you work?
My first vent system let some smoke linger like that, I regret working like that for many months. I doubled my fan size (2350) and increased the duct from 6 inch to 10 inch.
Headaches, nausea, night sweats, general fatigue and lethargy. Definitely not worth it.
If you are ina state park in Florida, why not just blow glass outside the trailor? It cant be that bad outside....
Turtle,
DEFINITELY CONSIDER THE IDEA OF A MAKE UP AIR SYSTEM. THIS MEANS YOU NEED TO FORCE AIR IN TO THE WORK ZONE AND PRESSURIZE THE SHOP WITH POSITIVE AIR FLOW. THEN WITH A SLIGHTLY SMALLER EXHAUST FAN THE AIR WILL VENT TO THE PATH OF LEAST RESISTANCE. THIS IS HOW ALL RESTAURANTS VENT THEIR KITCHENS.
HOPE THIS HELPS!

Im in new Orleans its been about 40 degress last three days but up into fifties today and thats what Im goin to do till I get to texas and can have some people help me out with construction and maybe with rides to get stuff. I obviously need to get this working though!
You can totally get on the roof without a ladder.. Park under a tree you can climb? Stack some shit? 2 picnic tables on top of each other?

Ok i know yall want me to jsut cut a hole in the camper. First I dont posses the tools to do that right. Ive been unable to find any shop that will even consider cutting the hole for me. Second Im pretty sure There may be a metal support beam goin acros the wall in front of my table that would obstruct a fan bein put in the wall right there.
Well if you cut the hole for a fan it'd more than likely be smaller than the hole for one of the windows. You could just enlarge the hole when it came time to sell the RV or whatever and install one of those windows in it's place
